My Mission Statement
My journey into modern mindfulness and ancient meditation practices began in an unexpected moment—when I found myself searching online for ways to become more resilient. My son had a surfing accident, and although he recovered, I realised I couldn’t allow my own past trauma to limit his passion. In that moment of searching, I came across the happiest, most radiant face I had ever seen—glowing at me through the world wide web. That moment became my introduction to mindfulness, and my first encounter with the teacher who would quietly shift the direction of my life.
Since then, my path has unfolded with curiosity and commitment. I completed a Master of Arts in Health and Social Wellbeing, and undertook training in Watsu therapy and Bowen Therapy. I have since become a qualified yoga teacher and am now deepening my work through Yin Yoga and a research thesis exploring its benefits for health and wellbeing.
BeingAware is the next chapter of that journey—a space where I can share a public journal of my insights, reflections, and discoveries as I continue to evolve in my own aware state. If anything I write helps even one person, then I have achieved something truly meaningful.
This blog also keeps me accountable. Maximising mind–body wellbeing requires intentional daily practice and awareness, and writing here encourages me to stay connected to that commitment. I hope you’ll join me—whether you are beginning your own journey or simply seeking new perspectives to nurture your wellbeing.
Guiding others along their wellness path is one of my greatest passions, so please feel welcome to let me know what topics you’d love to explore.
